Borg Vs McEnroe
This week I watched the movie, "Borg vs McEnroe". I watched it for the international cinema assignment, and I loved it!! I really love tennis so it was really fun for me to watch. It is filmed in different parts of Sweden and the main actor is Swedish so he spoke in Swedish the whole time. It was fascinating to watch because it really highlighted the cultural differences between The United States and Sweden.
The story is about 2 famous tennis players- John McEnroe from the United States, and Bjorn Borg from Sweden. John McEnroe was one of the most feisty tennis players to ever play the game, and Bjorn Borg was known for his calm demeanor. The movie shows how when Bjorn was growing up he had a small temper and would often act out, which is not okay in the Swedish culture. Bjorn's coach taught him to hold in his emotions, especially on the tennis court.
It shows the events that lead up to their face off in the 1980 Wimbledon Championship.
I loved learning more about the Swedish culture! Would recommend!

Wow I really want to watch this movie now! Sometimes I wonder why my movie watching is so limited to national films only!
